Charlie has worked as a primary and early years educator for many years. She holds a Masters Degree in Studies of Asia and has spent time teaching in the UK, across Australia, and in Indonesia. In addition to teaching she enjoys blogging and has found herself drawn to writing stories for young adults and children.

Her blogs and short stories tend to be about resilience, kindness, curiosity and the vulnerable beauty of our natural world. Charlie’s debut novel, Mallee Boys, was the recipient of the 2016 Adelaide Festival Unpublished Manuscript Award and was a 2018 Children’s Book Council of Australia Honour book.
